The frame of this quad rotor is made out of Carbon fiber. First I thought of using two of them in parallel to give it more strength, but then as I saw other project and based on the experiments I did I found it safe to start with only one and then increase to two just in case needed. This way I can save some weight and fiber carbon for crash recovery. For this I won’t use any mounting method which could be destructive, so I can recover the tubes for a possible future change.
In the pictures above you can see the final revision in which the motors are fixed with four screws and the frame has been cut down to 600x600cm. Motors are installed 270mm from the center. The final setup with me holding it from the center seems to hover at 4-6A, which seems pretty interesting to me! The video below shows the experimental setup not the final setup. More videos to come.

Excellent. I hope I can do things like this some time…
I would rather tell you not to. It is better to live a normal life than to be ‘an Engineer’. Please refer back to my previous post here : http://farshidjh.wordpress.com/2009/09/01/i-love-this-video/
haha….I saw that video. But as it said I’m in that knack already 🙂
Wow, its great, waiting for more videos…
Great Blog!!! You have to do your homework, when building a 3,4 or more rotor craft, but well worth the effort.Anybody can do it,but its not for the faint of heart.Figure around 500.00 in parts, electrical and mechanical, there is some programming involved. One guy had a video down link, flies it using the video glasses, that seems like the way to go.Im going to build one,I will let you know about all the ups and downs.Good luck
Please let me know about your progress. Flying with virtual reality goggles should be nice. I’ve seen one or two cases where it has been realized. However, I doubt if a real flight can be navigated from the start to the end through such goggles.
@ Pooya: Thanks buddy. Sure I’ll post more in near future.
@ Thomas: Doing stuff takes time and no wonder it will keep you busy as well. Let me know about yours, tell me if you have a blog or something. Good luck.
